Planning Questions

I don’t have enough time to do all the planning and research and to teach as well!

Interact provides learning intentions, activity ideas and questions, and indicators of achievement to choose from, and some photocopiable discovery sheets for students.

Can all age groups study the same topic at different levels?

There are many advantages in having all age groups studying the same basic topics at different levels.  Here are some:

  • It fosters greater unity in families than wide-ranging topic
    studies
  • It assists in clear planning, providing a clear and easily discernible progression of knowledge in each topic area throughout the age groups and levels
  • It provides for opportunities for remediation and extension easily (a Year 8 child who needs remedial work on Year 6 understandings could have relevant material and or lessons available, as could a younger child needing extension)
  • It enables older children to teach younger children occasionally, thus reinforcing concepts for both age groups
  • It facilitates efficient resource-gathering, visits, trips, materials, and visitors.

The Interact Curriculum has been developed so that the all age groups are studying the same basic topics at different levels
