21 A3 posters displaying images of New Zealand painters, sculptors, photographers and printmakers, representing a variety of ethnic backgrounds (including Maori, Samoan, Korean and European).

Teachers of visual arts have described our past series as 'the best resource seen in ten years on the job.'

Each theme has seven contributing artists, so with three themes in the series, this gives a total of 21 artists introduced.

Each poster is a full colour high-gloss reproduction of the artist's work.
The back of the posters are full of summarised information including:
    • the artist biography and statement, with a photograph of the art
    • the artist’s comment about the work profiled
    • how he/she develops ideas, with a photograph
    • the technical process of creating the artwork
    • subject and themes/approaches
    • some questions for discussion about the work profiled

NB. The poster owner can legally photocopy the details on the back of the poster for use within the school.

To ensure each pack meets the syllabus requirements we also include:
  • 12 Free Lesson Plans in a variety of media to assist teachers in a hands on art lesson
    Each pack will be contained in a PVC envelope for storage.

    The Themes for the 2005 Series are Plants and Trees, Journeys and Conservation


    The Plants and Trees set looks at how painters, jewellers, sculptors and mixed media artists express ideas about New Zealand plants and trees. Artists profiled are from New Zealand European, Maori and Korean ethnicity. Ideal for art education and also for integration into Science.

    The Journeys Set looks at ways that artists communicate ideas about journeys. The Maori, Samoan, New Zealand European and Chinese heritage in the artists brings an interesting dimension and series of stories told. The artworks of this set are paintings, mixed media, sculpture, photography and printmaking. Ideal for art education and also for integration into Social Sciences.

    The Conservation Set looks at the ways that people have communicated ideas about conservation of rivers, land, birds and other features of the natural world. Artists have New Zealand European, Maori and Samoan heritage and is ideal for art education, and for integration into Science and the Social Sciences.
